why this deck?

i designed the structure of the program entirely based on the fund pitch. the only difference being that we’ve skipped the check writing part. which is fine, because the point of the checks was to uplift our founders which can be done without money at first. which, allows us to follow the three pillars necessary to the program’s success:

community

there has never been a true community consisted of entirely founders at NYU. no such thing as a founder’s society, where people can learn and build off of each other’s experience. the closest we’ve ever gotten is EEG itself, which is still diluted. nothing wrong with it, but max value can still never be extracted when we deny some good founders and kick others out when they don’t follow our curriculum designed for non-founders. hence, take the closest thing that we have and build on it some more.

having an EIR cohort solves this issue while making EEG the center of it.

autonomy

entrepreneurship should never be taught like a class, in which you sit through for 3 months, attend lectures, complete assignments and do things because you’re told to do so. no diss to the current resources but this is a massive inherent flaw. entrepreneurship is never one size fits all. creating a non time-bound structure with accountability checks, office hours, and personalized events provides each founder with the most value that they can obtain, rather than spreading the same amount of total value to a bunch of founders and have them try to grab it.

EEG is suited to provide this due to our resources (VCs & founders) as well as our expertise

experiential

the program encourages entrepreneurs to take more risks and to build/continue building. experiential learning requires full commitment, which is what we demand from our founders as the first prerequisite. our selection process will be designed entirely around filtering for the most committed individuals that can be trusted to take advantage of what we provide and build their network and their idea. there is no better way to learn how to build than by speaking with people who have done it, by pitching to people who will invest in you later, and by actually going through the motions of being a founder.

the EIR cohort will provide unparalleled experiences for founders who want to f*king build.
